Elias Adestam uppmärksammades för sitt historiska guld i NXT Gen Cup när svensk motorsport firade av säsongen 2023 på Bilsportgalan i Jönköping på lördagskvällen.

Elias Adestam was recognized for his historic gold in the NXT Gen Cup when Swedish motorsport celebrated the 2023 season at the Bilsportgalan in Jönköping on Saturday evening.

Adestam achieved the biggest success of his career to date when he was crowned champion in the inaugural edition of the NXT Gen Cup, the world’s first electric racing championship for juniors, last fall. The 17-year-old Nacka driver was simultaneously proclaimed Swedish junior champion in touring car racing.

The title victory, which came after a thrilling final at Mantorp Park, meant that Adestam got to step into the spotlight on the Bilsportgalan stage at the Elmiamässan in Jönköping and be celebrated in front of around 600 guests on Saturday evening.

– The car racing event means so much to all of us who do this sport, says Elias Adestam. It’s our big company party. All the biggest stars have been there over the years. It’s where you want to go – it’s the receipt that you’ve done a really good job during the year. It means a lot to me to receive the JSM gold right there. The whole evening has been amazing and I hope to be back here again next year!

Saturday’s celebration was especially long-awaited for Adestam. Already in 2021, he was awarded the prestigious Rydell Special Award – one of the finest awards in Swedish racing – but was forced due to restrictions linked to the corona pandemic to receive the award at home in Nacka instead of at the gala itself.

– I have dreamed of standing on that stage as a winner ever since, Elias Adestam concludes. Now I finally got to do it – and I can’t think of a better start to 2024. We are working hard to get the next step in my career this season and I hope to have good news on that point shortly.
