“The most brutal car I’ve driven

Elias Adestam has completed his first test in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia ahead of the impending debut in the championship in Anderstorp in two weeks.

Adestam took a seat in the 510 horsepower Porsche 911 GT3 Cup car for a total of 20 laps at the Gelleråsen Arena in Karlskoga on Monday, and quickly became at home in the potent thoroughbred racer.

— The Porsche is by far the most brutal car I’ve driven, says Elias Adestam. There have been 20 very valuable laps here at Gelleråsen. The plan was to simply get into driving and start learning the basics of the car. Where all the buttons are, how it is to drive, and gradually start to push it a little at the end. Everything went according to plan without any problems. A good first run through that definitely adds more flavor.

Elias Adestam is the reigning Swedish junior racing champion (NXT Gen Cup) and recently turned 18. The Nacka son got his road driving license just a few days ago and is now on the threshold of becoming the youngest Carrera Cup driver in Scandinavia.

Adestam debuts in the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia, Sweden’s leading racing championship with official SM status, on May 3-4. The premiere takes place at the former F1 track Scandinavian Raceway in Anderstorp. Before then, another test awaits at Gelleråsen next week.

Elias Adestam drives for the reigning champions Mtech Competition, who last year took Ola Nilsson to gold in the championship. The venture is supported by Bilia / Porsche Center Malmö.
